Zovirax Tablet (Name-Brand) (Aciclovir)

The medication is used to treat cold sores around the mouth caused due to herpes, chicken pox and shingles. It also treats genital herpes infection. It helps to heal the sores and the pain. Acyclovir also helps to reduce the risk of the virus spreading to different parts of the body in people with weak immune systems.

Always remember to follow the instructions of the doctor or the physician about the consumption of any medicine to achieve the best results.
• The medicine has to be consumed orally with or without food preferably with water.
• Swallow the medicine as a whole. Avoid chewing or crushing it.
• To acquire the desired results, it is best to take the medicine during the same hour of the day every day.
• Do not double dose to catch up if you have missed a dose and the timing of the next dosage is almost near.
• Always remember to complete the prescribed amount of the medicine as directed by your doctor.

• The medication does not work well against genital herpes virus infection.

• The medication might pass on to the breast milk, although it is of not much harm to the breast-feeding baby. Take your doctor's advice before breastfeeding.
